How Vecentra approaches data governance, security, responsible AI, and regulatory expectations across our integrated AI drug discovery platform.

Last updated: 10 June 2026

1. Our compliance commitment

Vecentra Pty Ltd (ACN 697 965 138) builds responsible, audit-ready AI for drug discovery. Compliance is not an afterthought — it is built into how our platform evaluates molecules, how we govern data, and how we engage with research and commercial partners. This page summarises the principles and safeguards that guide our work.

We recognise that AI in life sciences operates in a high-stakes, evolving regulatory landscape. We design our processes to be transparent, defensible, and aligned with recognised standards and applicable law.

2. Research use and regulatory status

Vecentra provides computational research tools. Our predictions, rankings, and generated candidates are intended for research and development use only.

  • The platform is not a medical device and is not intended for clinical diagnosis, treatment, or patient-care decisions.
  • Outputs are not a substitute for laboratory validation, toxicology studies, or the regulatory approval processes required to advance a therapeutic.
  • Partners remain responsible for all regulatory submissions and for meeting the requirements of the jurisdictions in which they operate.
  • We support partners with documentation and provenance to assist their own internal review, but we do not provide regulatory or legal advice.

3. Data governance and privacy

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where applicable, the GDPR. Proprietary research data and compound structures submitted by partners are treated as confidential and processed solely to deliver agreed Services.

  • Access to partner data is restricted on a least-privilege, need-to-know basis.
  • We do not sell, license, or disclose partner compounds or proprietary research data to third parties.
  • Engagements can be governed by dedicated confidentiality, master services, and data processing agreements.
  • For full details of our data practices, see our Privacy Policy.

4. Information security

We maintain technical and organisational controls designed to protect data throughout its lifecycle, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and, where applicable, at rest.
  • Role-based access controls, authentication, and audit logging.
  • Reputable cloud infrastructure with established security and resilience practices.
  • Regular review of our security posture and prompt response to identified risks.

If you become aware of a potential security issue affecting our Services, please contact us at [email protected] so we can investigate promptly.

5. Responsible and transparent AI

We design our models and workflows to be explainable and accountable. Our integrated approach is intended to surface not just a score, but the evidence behind it.

  • Predictions are presented with context, including where confidence is strong and where risk remains.
  • A cross-module contradiction layer flags inconsistencies between predictions before they reach a researcher.
  • Safety and toxicity signals can downrank or gate otherwise favourable candidates.
  • We work to understand and mitigate model limitations, bias, and out-of-distribution behaviour.

6. Responsible use and biosecurity

We are committed to ensuring our technology is used for legitimate, beneficial research. Our Terms of Service prohibit using the platform to design or facilitate weapons or harmful substances, or for any unlawful purpose. We reserve the right to decline or terminate engagements that raise misuse or biosecurity concerns and to cooperate with authorities where required by law.

7. Intellectual property and scientific integrity

We respect intellectual-property rights and expect the same of our partners. Partners are responsible for ensuring they have the rights to data they submit. We strive for scientific rigour, evaluate on appropriate data splits with leakage checks, and are transparent about the research-grade nature of our outputs and their uncertainty.

8. Corporate conduct

Vecentra operates in accordance with applicable Australian corporate, anti-bribery, anti-money-laundering, sanctions, and export-control laws. We expect honest, ethical conduct from our team and partners, and we maintain appropriate records to support accountability.

9. Reporting concerns

We welcome questions and good-faith reports about compliance, privacy, security, or responsible-use matters. Contact us and we will review and respond appropriately. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
